ABOUT ME

My name is David.

One day, in October 2022 I woke up  and knew that I wanted to learn photography. I was  61, and had always been intimidated by the technical aspects. However something inside told me I should now try. I have no idea   why or how this intention arose, but it did so as clearly as a photograph emerging from a film photo lab.

 

My wife owned a venerable Canon 350 D DSLR which she purchased in 2008 or so. To be honest, it had not been greatly used, and had remained for much of that time in a cupboard. However, I had bought her a tripod one Xmas, and an extra  lens another Xmas, everything I needed to learn from scratch.   I am grateful she allowed me to appropriate it.

 

My intention in developing these skills is too overcome my fear of learning something technical, and  equally express my need to be creative.

 

 I am  63, married  and work full time as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in Victoria BC, Canada.
