During my first photography shoot in Sidney I came across this adorable dog. I quickly took a shot , and it came out like this:
f/4,1/1250 sec, ISO 200, 80mm, SV
As I am sure you will now have guessed, I had no intention of creating a black surrounding. So in a sense, it is a mistake, however unintentionally, the black background provides an ethereal image , and I like it! The dog, has an 'other -wordly' look that has some appeal.
Again, I am struggling with understanding shutter speeds, so the darkness of the image is probably because I had the shutter speed too high.
I was curious what I could do with this image so I did some post editing in photoscape X. I was pleased with the result:
Perhaps the white fur on his face is a little too bright, but I like that I have brought out some of the lighter brown fur. I think it is this one image that has really taught me the value of post editing. Of course I want to get the image as perfect as I can first time, but being able to transform images like this has increased my enjoyment of photography.
