So, summoning up all my reserves of fortitude and endeavor, I prepared and embarked on my first photographic expedition. Now , the kitchen was indeed much as I had left it not a little time before, however, in front of the window were some rather lovely flowers I had bought my wife. A perfect opportunity to flex my photographic muscles I thought. Here is the first image:
f/11,1/50sec,34mm ISO 400, jpeg
Here is another one:
f11,1,/50 sec, 18mm, ISO 400 , jpeg
Then things went, well, a little sideways:
f/5, 1/4 sec, ISO 200, 22mm, jpeg
f/5, 1/4 sec, ISO 200, 24mm, jpeg
By this time I was simply guessing!
Now the previous two image may look plain weird, but I love them!! I could become an abstract photography artist!
By this time I was in a veritable frenzy of Canon 350 D dexterity, pushing buttons and dials in gay abandon.
Finally, I hit on this, and it is the "best" one of this first attempt
f/3.5,1/1600 sec, ISO 1600,24 mm exposure -0.7 step jpeg
I think looking back at these first images, I now realise why so many people advise to shoot in aperture priority mode in the beginning. Typically I think these shots indicate I was trying to do too much too soon. I recall even trying to figure out white balance on this first shoot- ridiculous!!
