This week I will be sharing examples of my attempts to compose the frame in a landscape setting. They don't all quite work (of course) but that is the point of learning.
Here I am attempting to get a view of the landscape in the distance framed though the branches of the trees, These branches don't work for that, and the landscape was too far for my telephoto lens.
I think this is a better attempt at composition- plenty of foreground leading the eye to the scene beyond. Possibly too much foreground, and the landscape in the distance not sharp enough.
Although I was tempted to attempt more of a "Rule of Thirds" composition with the path, I like the way the viewer is standing at the top of the path which leads the eye through the frame.
Watch out for my next blog post on April 10th which will discuss Composition in more depth!
